“On my first day at a corporate job, I felt completely out of place. The race for promotions, targets, and titles didn’t excite me. I craved freedom. I wanted to build something meaningful, something of my own.
That’s when I decided to take a different path.
I began by assisting my mom in her import business for salon equipment. With my engineering background, the world of “credits and debits” felt like Greek and Latin to me! To bridge the gap, I enrolled in an entrepreneurship course at IIM Bangalore, which gave me the foundational knowledge I needed to run a business.
Soon after completing the course, in 2009, we launched a spa in Bangalore. Within five years, we expanded to seven branches.
Not long after, my sister and I took another leap and started Little Lavish, our boutique. But the profits weren’t where we wanted them to be. That’s when inspiration struck: why not organize a promotional pop-up event? We hosted our first event at a café, calling it the Lime Soda Pop-up. It was a surprising hit!
Fun but true: I named our brand ‘Lime Soda’ because I was drinking Lime Soda when this idea hit me. Simple!
Little did I know, that small idea would change everything.
I discovered that PR came naturally to me. Over time, Lime Soda Consulting and Pop-ups grew, step by step, gaining momentum and recognition.
But then, COVID hit.
Spas were forced to shut down. Events were prohibited. And to top it off, I was cheated by a business partner, losing all my money. It felt like everything I had built was crumbling.
Yet, I didn’t give up. I held on.
I literally started everything from ZERO.
That gave me confidence and strength to handle everything and anything. Now, I will strongly tell you that, “Even if you put me to my lowest now, at my late 30s, I know how to swim out of that mess.”
Today, after navigating through all the storms, I’ve successfully pulled off 100+ events with top brands, both within and outside India.
The real thrill of entrepreneurship isn’t just about success, it’s about learning to face hurdles head-on.
If you have a dream, chase it, no matter what comes your way! Let everything pull you down, but just breathe because it’s just a bad day, not a lifetime!”
