“I’m Vivek, born and raised in Tamil Nadu, and today, I lead Digiwin Media Solutions as Director while also venturing into the food space as a proud foodpreneur. My professional journey spans over 14 years across performance marketing and digital growth strategy. From running ad campaigns for India’s biggest brands to brewing cups of coffee for my café customers, every step of my career has been about learning, adapting, and creating impact.
Back in 2011, I didn’t imagine any of this. I had completed my Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering and was just another graduate searching for a stable job. I applied for a web developer role at Getit Info Services (which later became askme.com). The HR manager called me in and said the developer position was already filled but offered me another role in the “Digital Marketing Ad-Ops Team.” I had no idea what that even meant, but I accepted the job, and that decision changed my life.
In my first few months, I found myself surrounded by words like “Google AdWords,” “CPC,” “campaign optimization,” and “performance reports.” I had no background in marketing, but I learned fast. The work was demanding and, at times, overwhelming. My seniors trusted me with bigger responsibilities, and I spent late nights experimenting, learning, and improving. What started as a backup plan turned into a passion that would define my entire career.
That experience shaped my professional DNA, to adapt, to keep learning, and to never say “no” to a challenge. Over the years, I’ve worked across industries like real estate, FMCG, BFSI, and fintech. I’ve led teams across cities, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi, helping brands grow through performance-driven campaigns and creative storytelling. When I joined Social Beat in 2016, I moved beyond just running ads to building end-to-end marketing ecosystems, from programmatic advertising to client strategy and leadership.
If I look back, that one moment during a recession, when the job I wanted wasn’t available but another door opened, became the cornerstone of everything that followed. It taught me that success doesn’t always arrive as planned; sometimes, it walks in disguised as uncertainty.
Today, Chennai is where I work, live, and build. It’s not just a city; it’s my professional playground. From its buzzing tech corridors to its small cafés tucked away in quiet corners, Chennai keeps me grounded while still pushing me forward. I’ve conducted countless meetings, brainstormed late into the night, and celebrated milestones with my teams here. The city has given me more than just opportunities; it’s given me a sense of rhythm, balance, and belonging.
When people talk about Chennai, they often mention its heat or traffic. But to me, it’s a city that teaches persistence. Just like digital marketing, it’s always evolving, challenging you to stay ahead, to grow, and to believe that no matter how tough things get, something better is always waiting to happen.
From a young graduate who didn’t know what Ad-Ops meant to leading digital transformation for brands across India, my journey has been proof that sometimes, life’s best stories are written by chance, and Chennai is where mine began.”
