“When life hands you detours, you don’t stop the journey but simply change the route. That’s the one thing life has taught me.
Born and brought up in Chennai, I pursued my undergrad in Mechatronics at Hindusthan with one dream in mind, which is to go abroad and complete my master’s in supply chain management. Everything was set, planned and ready, until my visa was rejected at the very last moment. It was also the peak of Covid. I had just come out of a relationship, and I was also going through a financially rough phase. Suddenly everything I had envisioned collapsed right in front of me.
But you don’t give up like that. Not if you truly want something.
I stayed back, completed my master’s in Chennai, and soon landed a job in an IT company with a decent salary. But my father, who is an incredible businessman himself, had a very different vision for me. He always believed, “Even if you earn just 10k, earn it from something you built yourself.” That belief is what pushed me toward entrepreneurship.
That’s when ‘Century Letters’ was born. My father had been in that industry for over 25 years, and it naturally became my niche too. Even though I had a strong foundation because of him, building my own results, reputation and client satisfaction took time. I realised that to truly grow, I needed to strengthen my base, train my team better, and understand the craft inside out. Slowly, we began to grow steadily and consistently.
The next leap came when I partnered with my childhood friend, Gujjar, to start ‘Black Frog Events’. People often question our partnership, but what they don’t see is the trust, balance and deep understanding we share. We know each other’s strengths, weaknesses and instincts. Together, we created a platform where homegrown and small businesses could shine through pop-ups and community events.
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt, it’s this: Just start!
Whatever idea has been sitting in your heart, it’s there for a reason. The universe has a beautiful way of aligning things once you take that first step. There will be ups and downs, but what you build will always be worth it because you chose not to give up.”
