“Born and brought up in a small town near Chengalpattu, my life took an unexpected turn when I chose to listen to that quiet inner voice instead of the noise around me.
My early years were far from easy. My parents lived separately, and my brother and I were raised by our uncle and aunt. Over time, we completely lost touch with our mother. My appa passed away during those tough years, leaving us alone with our aunt and uncle. Years went by and I finished my schooling.
Yet life has its own way of rewriting stories. She (my mother) returned to our lives stronger, independent and successful, providing us with education and a roof over our heads when we needed it the most.
During college, I met my husband, and after marriage I stepped into a family that carried very traditional beliefs. My father in law believed a woman’s place was only at home, and convincing them to let me work was a daily struggle.
After the birth of my first son, the resistance only grew stronger. But my husband stood by me, and with his support, I continued.
In 2023, I started my professional journey as an operations manager and later transitioned into social media after learning the craft.
Alongside work, one thing that always defined me was my love for giving. I poured my heart into gifting friends, sometimes so much that it overwhelmed people and even cost me friendships. But I never wanted to change that part of myself.
One such effort caught a friend’s attention, and she asked if I could create something similar for her. Hesitant but curious, I tried.
I experimented with greeting cards and jewellery but did not feel connected. When people suggested a return gift business, I knew it had to be deeply personal.
That was how ‘Thaaraga Gifting Studio’ was born!
I began curating customised hampers for children, functions and special moments. My first baby shower order filled me with joy as I packed it with my second son, still a baby.
Orders grew, including corporate clients, and I ensured there was something meaningful for every budget. Today, what began as a one woman effort has grown into a small, passionate team.
What I once thought was my flaw turned out to be my purpose. And if you ever feel lost, remember that the universe always rewards a stubborn heart that refuses to give up.”
