“Have you ever studied for years only to realise your future was waiting somewhere completely different?
I always knew my voice mattered, and that belief is what led me to pursue law. I was convinced that the courtroom would be the place where I would find my purpose.
However, being in a professional course slowly made me feel restricted. During my internships, I realised that courtrooms, sessions, and legal proceedings were not aligned with who I was. I explored other aspects of law, hoping something would click, but nothing truly felt fulfilling.
One ordinary day, while scrolling through Instagram, I came across a post looking for volunteers to coordinate an event in Chennai. On impulse, I applied and showed up. I was entrusted with one of the biggest coordination roles at the event. I had no idea that this decision would change my life.
That event turned out to be the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad, the first international sports event of its kind in Chennai. Despite having no prior experience, the event was a massive success, and my work was noticed.
That experience sparked a major turning point in my journey. Choosing an unconventional path over a traditional career was not something that came easily, but it was a choice driven by passion, growth, and the pursuit of meaningful work.
Since then, I have successfully managed over 100+ events, including more than several international, national, and state level events. My work has largely focused on sports competitions. I have been part of Khelo India youth games Tamil Nadu and Bihar and have worked on two editions of the CM Trophy.
Every opportunity helped me grow, connect with industry professionals, and build strong networks that now support my work.
As I gained experience, I realised that events are powered by countless individuals working behind the scenes. Technicians, editors, marketing teams, coordinators, and support staff rarely receive the recognition they deserve.
To highlight their efforts, I launched Event Insider, a platform dedicated to showcasing the work that happens behind the scenes and beyond the stage.
It has been over three years since I made this leap, and my life now revolves around events.
If you truly want something, hold on, keep showing up, and trust the process. Sometimes, the life you dream of begins the moment you dare to choose yourself.”
