“My name is Gokul. I am an actor and model, and my greatest passion is to entertain and bring happiness to people. I grew up in Chennai, a city that has shaped not just my journey but the person I am today. I have always believed that life should be lived with purpose. When we look back at 60 or 70, we should not be filled with regrets about the dreams we never pursued. We get one life, and it is our responsibility to chase what truly matters to us.
One of the biggest turning points in my life was understanding that rejection is not a verdict on self-worth. When I started out, every ‘no’ felt deeply personal. After one particular audition, one I had prepared intensely for, I walked out defeated and questioned whether I belonged in this industry at all. Later, I found out the rejection was not about talent but simply about appearance. That moment changed everything. I realised that this industry is unpredictable, and tying your value to someone else’s decision will only break you. From then on, I stopped chasing approval and started focusing on growth. I learned to keep showing up, no matter the setback.
And through all of this, Chennai has remained my anchor. This city is not just where I live; it is who I am. The salty breeze of Marina Beach, the comfort of popcorn at Sathyam, the spiritual stillness of Kapaleeshwarar Temple, and the lively chaos of Express Avenue are not just places; they are pieces of my life. I have made memories in every corner, from late-night movie outings with friends to early morning temple visits with family.
No matter where I travel, the pull to return is always strong. The moment I step off the flight and hear Tamil around me or feel that familiar humidity, I know I am home. Chennai is warmth, resilience and quiet strength, and I carry it with me wherever I go.”
