“I’m Santhosh K Raja, a passionate writer and aspiring director, steadily carving my path into the world of cinema. I’ve had the privilege of working on several projects as an Associate, learning and evolving with every frame, every story, and every challenge along the way.
I’m a 100% Chennai boy, born and raised in this vibrant city that has been so much more than just a place to live. Chennai has been my teacher, my friend, and my biggest inspiration. From witnessing its strength during floods and cyclones to experiencing the warmth and resilience of its people, this city has shaped my worldview and continues to fuel my dream of becoming a filmmaker.
Interestingly, filmmaking wasn’t part of my plan in the beginning. During my first year of college, I was struggling academically, failing semesters, and feeling unsure of what I truly wanted to do in life. But that difficult phase forced me to pause and reflect, and that’s when I rediscovered my roots.
My father was a Co-Director with filmmaker V. Sekhar, known for his unforgettable family dramas like Varavu Ettana Selavu Pathana and Viraluketha Veekam. He also worked on films like AAI and Kovai Brothers. As a child, I used to visit film sets often and would watch the magic unfold, the actors, the lights, the chaos, the rhythm of filmmaking. Those early memories became the foundation of my dreams, though I didn’t realize it then. Years later, when I felt lost, those same memories came back to guide me.
That’s when I realized storytelling is where my strength lies. Cinema, for me, is not just entertainment, it’s emotion, truth, and connection. It’s my way of communicating with the world.
Chennai, to me, is not just a backdrop but a living character that breathes life into every story. Its traffic, its chaos, its people, they all hold stories waiting to be told. And for me, inspiration is everywhere, from a tea shop conversation to a fleeting smile in the rain.

One place that holds a special place in my journey is Vijaya Vauhini Studios (now Forum Nexus Mall) and AVM Studios. As a kid, I used to run around those sets, mesmerized by the world of cinema. Those spaces are where my dream began, and every time I walk past them today, I feel the same spark I did back then.
Every day, I remind myself that I’m still that boy, curious, hungry, and hopeful. The dream remains the same, to tell stories that move people, just like the city that once moved me.”
