“What if the life you are meant to live begins only when you dare to rewrite the one you already have?
Coming from a family of four generations of dentists, everyone assumed my destiny was sealed. I am a Punjabi, born in Uttar Pradesh but somehow I was meant to come to Chennai, a city that gradually shaped my dreams in ways I never expected.
I completed my BDS in Lucknow, then moved to Calicut for my master’s. That was the turning point. The city captivated me completely. Its landscapes, its pace and its beauty awakened something in me. That was the beginning of my urge to explore, to go beyond what I knew.
Life surprised me again when I met my husband, a fellow Punjabi settled in Chennai, who shared the same passion for travel. We married for love, but also for adventure. We planned trips months ahead, grabbing airline discounts and squeezing travel between my lectures at a dental college.
Even while practising dentistry, travel quietly became my second identity. I created a travel page, wrote blogs and slowly began collaborating with hotels, tourism boards across countries and many travel campaigns.
When my daughter was born in 2018, many said travel would become difficult. I travelled with her anyways, struggled initially, but she soon became my favourite companion.
Then came COVID. That was when I met my now business partner Nikita, a complete stranger I connected with instantly on Instagram. As mothers, we felt deeply that while the world offered travel options for solo travellers, seniors and budget explorers, there was no space dedicated to mothers. That spark became our mission.
In 2021, in the middle of two COVID waves, we started Travel With Kids, a company built not just for trips but for a community of mothers supporting mothers. The joy and empowerment it brought made me realise what I was truly meant to do.
So I took the boldest step of my life.
I quit dentistry!
It has been over a year now, and the journey has been extraordinary. Children should never be the reason to stop dreaming.
At 40, I began again and built a travel company from my heart. It is never too late to chase your calling. All it takes is courage to begin!”
