“As for the breastfeeding week, social media is rife with all the awareness and importance of breastmilk. But as for moms like who were unable to breastfeed due to various reasons, we have to rely on formula milk which does little to add to the guilty and insecurity to know if am doing the right thing.
But I would like to use my own story to convey that it is not a sin or a crime for a mother to give formula milk for her kid! Because in the end, all we want is your baby to be hale and healthy.
There is so much stress as a first-time mother to do the best for her kid without the added insecurity from social media! There were times I cried myself to sleep because I wasn’t able to provide her with breast milk.
The pressure got onto me and with the help of some friends of mine, I finally overcame the pressure and decided to stand my ground when it comes to nurturing my kid. I finally went to the doctor and found out that I had insufficient glandular tissue and that’s how it is going to be and I can’t do much about it.
It’s a myth when people say babies’ bond with their mother only when they are breastfed. Spending time with my kids is the most important thing for me and that has helped us bond so well over the months!
As moms, we know what’s best for our kids intuitively. So no matter what the crowd thinks, it’s best if we stick to our judgements and intuitions and turn a deaf year to naysayers!”
