Team HoM: Hi akka. Do you like the ramen you are eating?
Akka: Is that what this is called ma?
Team HoM: Yes. When did you buy it though?
Akka: I didn’t ma. I’ve been begging on these streets for the past week. Finally, a young man who saw me hungry was kind enough to buy me this maggi when I pointed out to the shop here.
Team HoM: That’s beautiful but what made you resort to begging akka.
Akka: *crying*
Poverty of course. I was a part-time construction worker and my husband, a gas repairman. Nowadays, with no work and our children busy with their own lives, we had no option but to beg for our last chances at survival.
Team HoM: Didn’t you look out for other jobs akka.
Akka: I did ma but I guess fate’s never been in my favour. I wouldn’t want anything more than to start making ends meet again. And until that happens, I’m unfortunately dependent on the mercy of good people, like the young man one who got me food today. May Jesus bless him in abundance. His heart to help is something I couldn’t spot even in my own children.
