“I’m a professional cricketer, and my journey has been filled with unexpected twists and turns. From a young age (14), I had a passion for cricket, and I dedicated my life to honing my skills. I played cricket tirelessly, with dreams of representing my country on the international stage. Alongside my sporting pursuits, I also understood the importance of education and managed to complete my degree with a decent score.
However, just as I was reaching a pivotal point in my cricket career, fate dealt me a cruel blow. I suffered a severe leg injury, forcing me into a 1.5-year period of bed rest. It was a devastating setback that left me feeling helpless and lost. Cricket had been my life, and suddenly, I was confined to my home, unable to do what I loved most.
During this challenging time, I contemplated my options. I briefly tried my hand at a 9 to 5 job in a BPO, hoping to find a new path. However, I quickly realized that the corporate world wasn’t for me. It was then that the idea of business and entrepreneurship began to take hold in my mind.
I had always harbored a deep love for waffles. When I shared my business plan with my family, they were initially hesitant and concerned. But I knew deep within that this was my calling, and with the support of my two friends, I delved into extensive research on batter and baking techniques.
On December 31st, 2022, we opened our first outlet, London Waffle. The journey was not easy, and there were moments of doubt and uncertainty. However, with perseverance and determination, we gradually gained momentum. My sister played a crucial role in our success, contributing her expertise in digital marketing to help promote our business.
Today, I look back in awe at how far we’ve come. We now have six outlets. Our waffles have become a sensation among food lovers, and we are planning to expand our business across Tamil Nadu and Bangalore. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that my journey would take me from the cricket field to the realm of entrepreneurship.
This experience has taught me that life is full of surprises and challenges. It’s about embracing the unexpected and finding new paths when the old ones seem closed. My love for cricket will always remain, and I cherish the memories and lessons it has given me. But now, I have discovered a new passion and purpose in the world of business. Someday, I hope to get back into cricket.
So, to all those facing setbacks and obstacles, remember that life has a way of presenting opportunities in unexpected ways. Embrace change, follow your passions, and never be afraid to venture into uncharted territory. You might just discover a new journey that surpasses all your expectations.”
