“What if the very thing people once laughed at becomes the reason they admire you someday?
I have been a creator for as long as I can remember. But being the only daughter in my family, I was expected to follow the classic path of becoming an engineering graduate and building a stable career.
I did exactly that, yet a part of me was always searching for something more. I started my career in a small startup after graduation and gradually worked my way into an MNC.
While managing a full-time job in IT, I explored multiple interests, including digital marketing, writing, and several other creative pursuits, trying to discover where I truly belonged.
If there was one thing that stayed constant throughout my life, it was art. As a child growing up in Poonamallee, even owning a drawing book felt like a luxury. But lack of resources never stopped me. I would use the tiny paint sets given at school and draw designs on my nails. It used to be my very own canvas.
Then came nail polish, and it completely fascinated me. I began experimenting with conceptual nail art on myself long before it became popular. People laughed at me because nail art was unheard of back then, but I continued anyway.
A few years ago, I discovered people who were turning nail art into successful businesses, and something immediately clicked within me. I pursued a professional certification in nail art, and the moment I completed it, I knew I wanted to build a studio of my own. I transformed my house in Poonamallee into my dream nail art home studio.
That’s how NailTastic happened!
Leaving behind my IT career to pursue nail art full-time was terrifying, and many people questioned my decision, especially because of the location.
But I trusted my skills, and slowly, people came searching for my work. I even travelled to Malaysia to get professionally certified and became a part of the globally recognised Federation of SISA International Beauty Association headquartered in South Korea.
I went from a small nail artist in Poonamalle to a celebrity nail artist in just a few years. The same people who once mocked me eventually walked into my studio for their wedding appointments.
Today, I proudly stand as proof that when passion meets consistency, even the boldest dreams can become reality.”
