“I was born and raised in Chennai and I have traveled to every nook and corner of this country. Coming from a low-income family, I worked as a manual laborer from a very young age and did not go to school. I had to go to any place that my work took me. However, there’s no place I’d rather live in, because I spent my childhood here, in Madras. Even if it was one filled with hardships, it was the time I had energy and could also play around a bit.
Old age has hit me and I have lost all my siblings and family members. Now I live all by myself, struggling to find my next meal. Even now, I just moved a massive bag from the train to the auto for a passenger who paid me some money. At this age also, I work hard to earn my bread and butter.
I will earn every penny of mine through hard work and will do every job that comes my way as long as the last muscle in me has some strength in it.”
