“The moment I walked into that office a year ago, I knew there was something special about her. Was it how her silhouette moved towards her desk or was it that smile that shone as warm as the day. Unsure of what was so striking, I had to get to know her better. And with that blossomed a friendship unlike no other. Working as an event planner is no joke- with it comes the sleepless nights, the stressful days, and the handling of non-stop drama. From ‘Could something go wrong?’, ‘What do I fix today?’ the concerns are endless.
Charannya, who I had met a year ago, had taken a whole 180-degree turn from Dentistry to wedding planning, a feat that wouldn’t come easy. According to most Indian parents, conventional
educational courses were the norm, and stepping away from the norm was no easy task. Yet she did it, and she did it with such grace and panache.
And let me tell you, she was as dedicated and committed as they came. Be it meetings, venue meets, or calls, she was on top of it all. No matter the time, she had a zeal and vigor that remained the same; be it 12 pm or 3 am, she’s always a pillar of support for the team. Sometimes I wonder
whether she’s human at all.
With 2020 came a new decade and a crisis unlike anything in the past. With lockdowns imposed and life as we knew it halted, we couldn’t fiddle our thumbs and wait for this to get over. We knew we had to do something. But what?
At that time, our company decided to release handbooks titled World of Brides, World of Weddings, etc. We strived to connect with industry experts and come up with a compilation of their best works.
With the lingering question of how we could get it done amid a lockdown, Charannya was again at the top of her game. She took it upon herself to reach out to professionals from various spheres in the industry and compiled the book in less than 45 days. A feat that no one else would have done
better.
And to that end, having spent one and a half years in the industry, I am proud to say she is now the CEO of our company- a real inspiration to us all.
As the quote goes, ‘A dream does not become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work,’ Charannya is a real inspiration for people looking to pursue their passions and dreams. Having shifted from her safe, professional background, she ventured out to make her dreams come true. Indeed, nothing in life comes easy, and the journey may seem challenging. Yet unless you take that first step, you’ll never know where your dream journey can take you. She was the one who taught me that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.”
