“Though I studied Bioinformatics in my UG, I ended up being a social work graduate, a traveller, a social work professor.
I was told to join Agricultural University for my UG since I scored well in the 12th grade.
At that age, I couldn’t refuse the decision as I was unaware of the future and its stupefactions.
When I crossed the 3rd year of my hostel life, I started realising that my lane was different and not this.
I took up Vikadan’s 1-year student report/journalism scheme and discovered a lot more coverage throughout the media lane.
Once I completed the learning scheme and my UG, I planned to do PG in social works, and more importantly in Chennai.
My friend, Gowthami and I started a Travel YouTube Channel called ‘Gypsy Jinns’ in late 2019. We were travelling to quite a lot of places from 2017 and pictured each of them. Travelling began as a hobby and later, turned up to be one of my passions.
Besides travelling, social work interests me more and I fearlessly took up my career as an Assistant professor in the same field.
I never was prepared for anything that happened. I think something deep and put my 200% into it – and then it happens – Magic moments!
That’s how I grabbed my love life so firmly. My Partner and I mostly have the same taste and we always like to remain on the same page.
We met on Facebook and after a 5-year relationship, we tied the knot. Though we weren’t interested in a traditional marriage, our families pushed into doing those rituals.
We, however, stick to our philosophy of believing that humans belong to one caste and that is love.
Like every other family, my parents were also strict in not letting me move out of our hometown.
I had my struggles, coming from a restrictive family and being a girl, but out of all these, I had my determination even more bigger.
I too had my possibilities to step out of my dream or to remain unspoken of whom I wanted to be, but I picked up a different path that had shaped me much stronger and more powerful.
Life was smoother for me because I made it feel that way. It always depends on how we envision life. And I hope I have a clearer picture now!”
