“With a medical record of two heart attacks and two-stroke episodes, I lived. I survived those days, which every day still reminds me that life is short, so I chose to live instead of just existing.
My father is a Medical Doctor, and my mother is a Counselling Psychologist. I spent my childhood in Neyveli, a township in the Cuddalore district, where I had no experience of negativity or bad vibes. I wasn’t exposed to heartbreaks until I left Neyveli Township to face the world.
After pursuing my Engineering in Chennai and PGPM at Great Lakes Institute of Management, I was into Corporate Banking for 6+ years across PSU and MNC Banks. Meanwhile, I was determined not to lose any opportunity that came my way. I also worked on domestic and international projects in the Renewable Energy industry sector as well, for a whole good decade and still consult for a few clients who approach me, requesting advice and help with financial modeling and business strategy.
On the personal front, I’m single, not by choice, but owing to certain not-so-good experiences with the wedding scenario and my health situation, of course. My parents are patient, practical, supportive, and understanding; considering the societal talks, they hold the fort for me. I’ve always been told to make my own decisions and I ensure that my parents and I are on the same page.
After two episodes of heart attack and stroke, the doctors performed an open heart surgery, after which I came to know that I was affected with ‘Broken Heart Syndrome’.
Sounds bizarre? Yes, I really had a broken heart, not just emotionally but physically too.
With divine intervention, I chose to believe it, so I woke up the next day to work on my passion, goals and challenges and decided to deal with everything but with a smile on my face and with minimum stress, ALWAYS.
Because I know what it is like, to experience the last few hours of my life. I couldn’t get to close my eyes that night, in gripping fear of passing away.
Among many interesting passions, I was always devoted to music, but it took a back burner for the most part due to career commitments. I would rightly say that music chose me.
‘Kannoonjal’ was my first ever bilingual music single, which was released in 2017, and became a huge success during the pandemic. After one of my friends recognized my work on one of a celebrity’s family wedding albums, she suggested that I consider teaching music to children, adults, etc.
And yes, I did take up music full-time. During the pandemic, I started teaching 60+ children, music online, which offered me more insights into how well I can be unique and creative to those lovely, soulful kids. I wish to impart my learnings and so much goodness to the next generation, and I must confess I’m addicted to it!
Game changers can be anything, anyone! Grab them and keep running!! Life’s too short for explanations!!!
Self-satisfied? Then keep moving!”
