“The curiosity to try coupled with perseverance is the lethal combination that has shaped my life till date. There was, of course, our traditional education system but that rarely sparked my interest. Life felt like my true teacher and I was always inclined towards newer experiences, be it in the form of extracurriculars or even some notorious moves occasionally like stealing my dad’s car to explore the gifts of nature.
But all of it did somewhere aid me in discovering my likes and strengths. For instance, a few of these trips with my friends made me realize how good I was at organizing tours and eventually became the stepping stones for my travel startup. Moreover, having been born to parents who got divorced subsequently, it’s always been about dealing with situations beyond my comfort zone. Therefore, whether it was the decision to move away for my education or even give up a well-paying job to launch my businesses, I took it all with the vigour to face any challenge that came my way.
And trust me, there were many! Especially with the 2020 pandemic and the travel industry coming to a standstill, the uncertainty was intense! Salaries had to be paid and expenses settled regardless of whether there was any inflow and I had to pick up, not only myself but my whole team to keep the show running. But you know what they say about the power of good friendships- it can make or break a person! In my case, I’m glad it was the former. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by a good network that helped me spot a booming opportunity in digital media. Businesses were keen on shifting online with the lockdowns and I jumped at the opportunity to kickstart my new venture.
So you see, it all again boils down to having a dream and a keen eye! Nobody ever imagined that I’d become the owner of five different startups and host treks for over ten-thousand people when I started but here I am!
And finally, now that my initial years of struggle are done with, what I aspire, going forward, is to strike a balance between hustling hard and maintaining a sense of peace. This combination again seems impossible but I’m sure I’ll crack it one day!”
