“As a graduate of fine arts, I did my final year project in designingfootwear and it eventually became my business. I commenced my
startup in the lockdown of 2020 in the month of November and this hasbeen one of the best learning journeys so far. The challenges are
innumerable but I decided that I had to do this and I took it up withoutthinking further.
As a 21 year old in the business industry, it is so hard forme to convince people to take me seriously. Everyday I used to get
rejected by 100s if not 1000s of vendors who would never call me backor cut me short. But I have learnt that, if you decide to do something, youshould just take it up and follow through on your promise. Because it’s apromise we made to ourselves and we must honour it with utmost
respect.
One should not be afraid of taking the first step! It is going to beone of the hardest steps ever but once that first step is taken, everythingelse falls into place automatically. I have learnt a lot in this one year thatmy fine arts degree didn’t teach me. I have learnt about business byconducting business myself and the one thing that stands above all, is tobe kind no matter what. It always pays to be kind and it’s okay if we facefailure; we will find a way to leave a mark on this world.”
