“Though I was born into a family of Engineers, I did not do Engineering.
I had plenty of time when I was pursuing my UG in English Literature. The degree was just for a namesake, or maybe, I can call it as an interest in writing.
Soon I noticed that my interest and passion inclined towards directing a film. So I took a chance to join the Film Institute in Chennai to understand how the industry works.
Once the course was over, I started my professional journey as an assistant director. However, I realised that I wasn’t fit to be a perfect AD after a while.
That was the moment I decided to write my own scripts.
Unfortunately, COVID hit us hard, and fortunately, that gave me a lot of time to read more. Consequently, I started reading a variety of books on different genres.
Those were the times that built me strong and confident in choosing the right scripts for the right audiences in the right season. As a result, I managed to shoot a couple of short films, including a music video, a documentary film, and a film for Abhistu.
Also, simultaneously, I got an opportunity to work as the Show Producer for one of the leading YouTube channels, The Book Show.
Working as a freelancer helped me figure out how to handle the instability. However, I managed to work under the ONLINE pressure and ended up learning algorithms and the concepts which impact ‘what and how’!
I believe social media to be a place where we can reflect ourselves socially, and of course, every social media platform works with a different algorithm. This helped me catch the pulse of the current generation.
When you have the right circle (friends) around you, you’ll be able to reach your goal easily and effectively. I’m one of the lucky ones who is bestowed and circled up with the right souls.
You can see me soon on the big screens as one of the successful film directors (on a very humble note)”
