“I did my UG in Engineering at Chennai and PG in Journalism at Bangalore. Immediately after my graduation, I had a chance to work as a Gandhi Fellowship in the Piramal Foundation at Bombay.
I’m a person who never misses opportunities. Therefore, accepted the offer and travelled with a sceptical opinion.
I was supposed to stay in a slum and teach children values and morals. Initially, it was all new and I found it very challenging to adapt to the new culture. But I should admit that I learnt a lot from the civilization, the people, especially the kids around the vicinity.
Children were highly talented and smart. They had a strong mental strength, which surprised me.
This was the time where I had put myself into an exposure on understanding how poverty works in our country.
I travelled to many cities and discovered how the parents help their children survive, their literacy knowledge, how bad they look after their health and so on. This made me take a decision on EDUCATING the underprivileged.
Everyone faces challenges. But it is important on how constantly we keep battling it without quitting the process.
After the fellowship, I joined Josh Talks Tamil (Indian Media platform) and curated the speakers and their talks.
Systemizing and organizing a talk isn’t that easy as it is seen in the video. There’s a lot of work involved from choosing the right person and checking if the lights work properly and having alternatives for pity things and so on.
I’ll have to have enough patience, dedication and self-motivation to hold up events. When it comes to media, people look for entertaining materials but I put my heart and soul into uncovering the inspiration out of it as well.
By leading the shows, I analysed that every person has their own (inspiring) story and it takes a special reason to figure them out carefully.
Despite having a worthwhile career, I desire to spend the rest of my life amidst mountains, educating kids around the area.
My life is in my control and I’m super proud of that!”
