“Right from childhood, I’ve had a knack of doing things differently. I always wanted my work to stand out and speak for itself. It stemmed from the philosophy of loving something and mastering it to the core. I owe this mindset completely to certain teachers who made classes engaging with their casual style of narration and anecdotes about life in between. These small techniques are what pushed my thinking limits!
With time, this quality helped me explore many unthinkable possibilities. One such moment of significance was my registration for a starting independent TED chapter getting accepted. It enabled me to amplify the voices of all the unique work I could find in the city and thoroughly fuel my passion. The result of all that passion came in as an unexpected win when I was invited to attend the Global TED Conference, fully sponsored by the Melinda Gates Foundation, representing India.
Similarly, now with the pandemic panic caused by fake news and rumours looming around, I wanted to do my bit to help. So in an attempt to see clearly through the chaos, I started double-checking the usefulness of helplines and cross-verified any updates within government websites. Eventually, I collated all this useful information and created a web application that was easy to access. To my surprise, it blew up and got much positive feedback from huge MNCs in the technology space, who had expressed their interest in developing my idea into a fully functioning standalone app.
All this, only makes me want to thank the people who brought me up as a socially aware person-my family! They seeded the required empathy and perspective in me, which ultimately got me exploring another beautiful field called ‘volunteering’. And amongst all the learnings there, the sheer realization that kids even when they’re not sure of getting their next meal, radiate so much happiness and joy, really made me evolve into a better person. Today, my wish is to touch as many lives possible throughout this wonderful journey called life!”
