“My life was moving smoothly before I was diagnosed with Lupus Autoimmune Disorder, a disease that attacks the tissues and organs of one’s body when I was 14.
Slowly, the disease started spreading to every organ and tissue cell which gave a severe attack on my kidney. After a decade, in my 24, it resulted in kidney failure.
I accepted the dialysis process for around 5 years and with no further thought, my mom decided to lend me her kidney. I was in a coma for a couple of days and the doctors declared brain dead for me. It was a serious miracle for me to wake up after those dead days.
It got better, but it was the most difficult time of my life in terms of health. I’m just now starting to feel like I look like myself, feel like myself, but I had to go through it all to get to this side.
I spent my regular days in the hospital for more than a decade. But that did not stop me from graduating, modelling, acting, dancing and learning more and more every single day.
My pain urged me to follow my passion and thus, I became an actor and a model. I got an opportunity from the Zee5 channel for a web series and yes, I worked on the project. Not just that, I’m a motivational speaker. I speak on various topics such as suicide prevention, positivity, inner strength and so on. Additionally, I write and I’m a co-writer of a book. I’m also a communication teacher wherein I tutor students online. I run my boutique and my mother prepares homemade oils during our unoccupied, hospital-free times.
I had fought so much physically and mentally to stand where I’m today. And the fight was so real and fearful.
When you’re strong, life gives you tougher challenges. And I suppose, I had passed them all successfully.”
