“I’m a biotech student, based out of Chennai.
During my school days, I did not have any constraint towards going to school, visiting my friends, playing football or listening to classes physically. And more importantly, I loved going to school every day.
But considering the current scenario (COVID), kids and teenagers rarely visited schools in the past couple of years which had badly hit the interest towards education and books. However, we can tremendously see a high increase in the internet and digital usage by even a 6-year old kid.
There has been a lot of shattering of the love, care, and bond between the teachers and students. The things we all loved over the past two years have taken a roller coaster ride in all our lives and the team here is working on creating a social friendly atmosphere for the children to enjoy their learning to the core as it is the best way to shape their future.
I had seen how Emotions explode instantly in a family and when it explodes, massive physical and mental damage happens. The frequency of those incidents and their impact will build unhealthy relationships and bring mental trauma to the kids.
To break this barrier, we, a team of students, decided to inculcate the fact that education is fun, interesting, inspiring and valuable. We had taken efforts to teach them to avoid the emotional build-up in my mind.
We created ‘Happy Schooling’.
As a young team, we decided to build relationships with government school kids wherein we approached 3 government schools near our college.
We pitched into all the 3 schools and I must say that the teachers actually wanted us to show some sort of impact and thus, we were highly encouraged to do this social cause. We interact with the government school children every week and understand their problems firstly.
The team follows an agenda to make the learning easier and reach students in a better way. The class starts with students exchanging the good deeds they did the whole week and working on activities in order to make learning fun and the next with teaching their part of the syllabus and working out extra to make them understand the concept and ending with learning about our country or the moral values of life.
The smile that we (Happy Schooling) see on the faces of those small kids, their eyes wanting to see the colour of the beautiful world through us, encourages us to work on more and run faster to achieve Happy Schooling’s motive.
Many of the kids have limited knowledge about the external world, the only goal they had was to score the first rank in class and not worry about anything else. That can be one of the goals but that’s not all that a kid should be focusing on.
There’s more to discover and learn outside the classroom & that’s what we infuse them with.
The single petal of a flower does not seem as beautiful as a full whole flower the same way we tend to put the knowledge through books altogether and thus into a whole full library to get into the garden and let the children taste the honey of the future.
Let’s put our hands together to be the change we tend to observe.
HAPPY SCHOOLING..!”
