“I’m Cathy—an ESL trainer, a teacher, and someone who wears many hats with equal joy.
I’ve always believed teaching is one of the most rewarding professions. There’s something powerful about knowing you’ve helped someone land a job or speak with confidence—it makes you feel like you’re part of their story. Before I chose teaching full-time, I explored acting and even had a small role in FIR. It gave me visibility, sure—but more importantly, it helped me realise where I truly felt at home: inside a classroom.
Incidentally, the place I work is also where I first met my husband, back in 2018. We started out as colleagues, became best friends, and eventually, partners in every sense. In 2023, we had an interfaith wedding—Christian and Hindu—that we planned entirely on our own. It was chaotic, beautiful, and completely ours.
At the heart of it all, we believe in one thing : We are one team.
Every decision—whether it’s our vision boards, budgeting, travel plans, or building our first home—is something we take on together.
Our dream of owning a home came true through conscious saving and shared effort. We started our married life in a rented space with just a mattress, fridge, and lamp and even then it felt like home because it was never about the space but about the life we were building inside it.
Now, we’ve bought “our” home and it still reflects who we are, not what society expects. A small space in this big world that is completely and intentionally ours.
To anyone trying to figure it out— talk, plan, keep it real. Your story doesn’t need to tick someone else’s boxes. Build what’s right for you. Because that’s where the magic truly is.
And when you’re aligned like that—even the smallest things feel big.”
