“As a kid, I was an outcast. I wouldn’t be included in anything during school hours. So I focused all my attention on academics. As someone who had faced every sort of failure early on, life taught me patience and every wish I nurtured, eventually came true for me. I enrolled for BA History at Stella Mary’s College and also studied Tourism. One of the things that appeared during college days was helping others. The idea started with a notion to help educate two people. But I didn’t have the means to continue as I wished. So shortly after graduating, I joined work and set aside a specific amount to help two students from the Santhome slums. And through this, as I got to know and interact with many others, I ventured out to start an initiative named ‘Helping Hand Is Humanity’. We conducted our first event on the 9th of July 2019 and we have been able to reach out to so many women out there. But the entire workload changed for us when corona entered. We have been able to provide provisions for many daily wage families. It goes without saying how people thought this might be an epic failure of mine and they teased me but I am now confident enough to know where am headed. I am proud to be the cause of so many happy, laughs. ‘Serve Today and get served tomorrow’ has come to become the motto I live by.”
