“My journey with the police force has been quite eventful, to say the least. Though I entered the force with the idea of securing a stable government job, the role came with its own set of experiences – ones that I would cherish for a lifetime. I joined the force at the entry role of police constable and retired as a Sub Inspector from the Teynampet branch.

In the span of years following my entry, I have served in different departments right from traffic management to crime and intelligence and finally to law and order. It goes without saying that some of the most memorable experiences come from my time at the crime branch. I have solved many cases with the help of my other colleagues and in return, received praise and gratitude from the affected’s family members. It was a fulfilling period of time in my life.

In all the time that I had worked in the force, one thing that I always remained loyal to was the uniform and the chair I was seated upon. Whenever I was faced with a dilemma, I would just surrender my loyalty to the title and the position and tell myself that I have to do right by that position that is conferred to me. No matter whatever struggle came up, I just took in my stride and did my best work every day and that has served me to this date.

It’s been 11 years since I retired and to this date, I ensure to focus on my health and keep up with healthy practices every day. I help around the house and also keep myself updated with current affairs. The post years of my retirement have been peaceful and stable but I still miss the touch and the feel of my uniform.

The Police Force of any country plays a major role in the welfare and the well being of society. In that regard, I would wish to state that our primary role as the up keepers of law and order is to earn a good name among the society members and ensure that we work in our conscience in place. That alone would take care of everything else.”
