“I’m from Chennai, and I Practise Ayurveda, Acupuncture & Sound healing. Medicine has always fascinated me. I always wanted to do something that wasn’t just a job but truly helped people, brought change, and healed. My journey began during college when Amma fell ill. Her strength had always been a constant, and seeing her unwell was hard for me. We turned to acupuncture and Ayurveda, and to our surprise, she started to recover. That was a turning point for me. I saw the power of natural healing, not just as theories in books but as something that could genuinely transform lives.
After my college, I was introduced to other healing practices like sound therapy and psychology. Since I already knew the Hindi language, it was a little easier for me to adapt to learning Sanskrit as well. This helped in adding a rich layer to understanding ancient medical texts. The more I learned, the more I wanted to apply these practices to myself and see if they truly worked. To my amazement, they did.
Studying acupuncture and natural sciences wasn’t always easy. Sometimes, even professors would discourage us, saying our dreams might end once we got married. But I refused to give in. I knew my potential and believed in my purpose – to serve and heal people.
Today, as the Medical Director at Cansaa Integrative Healing Clinic, I can say that my passion has found its way into my profession. I prescribe medical cannabis and practice sound healing, combining modern science with ancient wisdom. Every day, I see patients come in with doubts, and I watch as their fears dissolve into hope.
Yes, people often try to shut down new ideas, but I’ve learned to be relentless. If something is meant for you, no one can take it away. So, I tell anyone with dreams of healing, of changing the world in their own way – don’t give up. The journey might be tough, but it’s always worth it. After all, if one is content with what they have, I believe they are blessed. And there’s nothing more fulfilling than that.”
