“I was fired from my day job when I was 3 months pregnant. I joined another company soon but had to take a break due to my health issues during the pregnancy. I come from an upper middle-class family where I had no financial backup or family business. Though I dreamt of owning a startup during my college, the Eureka moment only occurred a few weeks before I was about to deliver my son. I quit my day job during my pregnancy and set my mind to re-building my career as an entrepreneur and stand out in a crowd as a women who made a career post pregnancy. That was when I started a content marketing agency! I converted my content writing career into an entrepreneurship venture with two of my friends and signed my first project with a reputed photography company in March, 2018. I delivered my son two days after commencement of the project. A week after my delivery, I resumed my work and there has been no looking back since then. Today, my company has completed 2 years successfully. We have been serving a few top brands in the city and have a ten member team operating virtually. As an organization, our goal has always been to cater to the end-to-end content needs of our clients and to employ more freelancers to the team who share the same vision of growing together; specifically women with relevant expertise in digital content creation who are struggling to build their career after pregnancy. We have been operating seamlessly. When I started, it was hard for my family to understand the nature of my job and to support me. But as the years rolled by, they have come to become my pillars of strength. Things weren’t easy for me as I had a startup, toddler, family and friends to care for. But with time, you just learn to multitask. Going forward, I am working on achieving holistic success in life, which is; succeeding in all the roles I have chosen to play in life.”
