“I’ve been lucky to have found that one thing that drives me the most in life- Salsa! What started off by chance, has today, transformed my life in ways I can’t imagine. You see, I grew up an overachiever, actively juggling various events that popped up in school. My parents were, of course, worried if all of it would deviate me from my studies but my SSC scores spoke a different story and got me to enroll in dance classes, per my wish. Now there, while I was set out to join hip-hop I noticed this intriguing dance form called Salsa that immediately lured me to give it a shot. It wasn’t a popular choice amongst my parents, but seeing me love it so much got them to come around eventually. And no surprise, within a short span of time, that same passion aided me to ace multiple levels and even started working as a trainer in my dance school. Salsa became my first priority and the dedication I showed translated to multiple live stage performances, classes for celebrities, and even an onscreen opportunity.
But life does have it’s plateaus, and soon I was at the face of some difficult times especially with the growing number of naysayers, and haters in my circle. There were moments when bitter situations made life feel like a dead end. I almost plunged into massive self-doubt for a brief bit before realizing that my talent is all that should ultimately matter. And with that belief in place, I turned things around and launched my first ever independent Salsa workshop. And the huge success that came with it became my motivation to start more things, beautiful. Four years from then, I’ve gone on to create my independent brand with over 2000 students and so much more. With my mom, rock-solid on the side, supporting me throughout I’ve been able to hustle both as a dancer and a businesswoman. What’s better is meeting my now husband in my earlier classes and gradually falling head over heels in love! So you can see, my whole life has revolved around salsa! I’ve grown manifolds, transforming it from a hobby to a passion to finally, a full-time profession. And with numerous awards and recognition to my credit today, all that mattered was the will!”
