“From our humble village near Kollidam, the idea of entrepreneurship was ingrained in us. It was more than a mere concept; it was a way of life. My brothers and I grew up amidst the bustling business fervor that surrounded our village, and it wasn’t long before the spark of ambition ignited within us.
My younger brother was the first to venture to Chennai after completing his diploma. His footsteps echoed even further as he went abroad. Meanwhile, I pursued my masters in IT, harboring a genuine desire for movie direction since college. I penned scripts, almost 8 scripts, nurturing a dream that simmered within me.
But I wasn’t welcomed by the cinema back then. I decided to take time to build financial stability first. I poured my energy into our brother’s business. Alongside my brother, we expanded our ventures, establishing a robust business with a workforce of around 6000 people.
Yet, the unexpected arrived with the pandemic, urging a shift in our trajectory. We shuttered our construction endeavors and found ourselves contemplating a new chapter. A long-dormant dream rekindled its fire within me – movie production. Embracing change, I immersed myself in stories, seeking the narrative that would leap from pages to the silver screen. We named our production company – Million Studios.
In a matter of months, the dream gained shape and form. ‘Weapon,’ a cinematic venture directed by Guhan and featuring Sathyaraj, Vasanth Ravi, Rajiv Menon, and Rajeev Pillai, emerged from our collective vision. The path wasn’t smooth; obstacles loomed large. However, I learned that stability of mind and resilience against adversity are the true tools for progress.
Age became a mere number, for I stood at the crossroads of my passion and profession. It demanded patience, strategic decisions, and a steadfast commitment to dreams. I realized the importance of financial stability before nurturing my passion, balancing between the practical and the visionary.
Life taught me that risks, well-calculated and fearlessly taken, help us reach our dreams. Today, standing at this juncture, I understand that always being consistent and focused on our goals is what a good entrepreneurship demands. I took my time to pursue my long-term passion of being in the cinema field but never quit dreaming big. My journey towards being a director will begin soon!”
