“I’m Gowri, a 27-year-old woman from a traditional North Indian family. Growing up, I was always expected to get married and settle down. After completing my schooling at Church Park and my Bachelor’s degree at Stella Maris College in Chennai, I found my passion in the IT industry.
However, when COVID hit, I found myself reflecting on what truly made me happy. It was then that I realized my true calling was in event management. Despite my family’s initial scepticism, I was determined to make my dreams a reality.
I founded my own event management company, “All About Happiness – AAH!” with nothing but the name and a desire to succeed. It wasn’t easy. There were times when I felt like giving up without any background support. But I knew I had to keep pushing forward.
I took baby steps, learning marketing, business, and hiring artists all along the way. Consistency was key. It took two years of struggling, but now my team grew to 15+ artists and professionals, accomplishing 250+ successful events. Today, we are known as one of the best event planners in Chennai, specializing in birthday surprises, anniversary celebrations, proposals, and more.
Of course, it wasn’t always smooth sailing. When it comes to groom searching, families were hesitant to choose me because I was a woman involved in the business. But I refused to let them get me down. Their negativity only fueled me to work harder and prove them wrong.
Despite juggling my IT job and running my own business, I never lost sight of my goal to spread happiness through my events. It was a lot of hard work, but seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces made it all worth it. Making their day feels like making mine.
My dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed. I was honoured as the chief guest and the best women entrepreneur in various college events. And while I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished so far, I know there is still much more to do. I’m already planning to expand my business to other cities in India.
My journey hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned that with hard work, passion, and perseverance, anything is possible. I hope my story can inspire others to follow their dreams and never give up, no matter how challenging the road ahead may seem.”
