“I’m from Chennai. Financial constraints deprived me of pursuing my 11th and 12th grades, but that didn’t discourage me. My mother’s small shop helped us survive. She is my support system. It’s only for her that I work hard.
Determined, I enrolled in a diploma program in mechanical engineering. I started working simultaneously with my degree course. I didn’t want to be a burden to my mother. After completing my degree, I secured a trainee position in a company, a dream come true. However, rejection from a global brand because I was underweight had initially left me disheartened.
As I climbed the ladder, transitioning from a trainee to a supervisor, the unforeseen obstacle of COVID-19 struck. My training was cut short, and I was asked to wait to take the supervisor position, which I know will take months. I was the breadwinner of our family, so I was in a position to make an instant decision. Undeterred, I left the company and embraced a new opportunity, plunging into night shifts to support my family during the pandemic.
The night shifts took a toll on my health, leading to sleep problems. Determined to overcome this, I delved into understanding nutrition, stress, and body nutrients. I joined a gym, transforming my lifestyle. My interest in the subject deepened, prompting me to enroll in a one-year nutrition course. I worked during the night and attended classes during the day. I dedicated myself to completing the program with an internship.
Armed with valuable knowledge, I felt compelled to share it with the world. Thus, I ventured into Instagram. Fear initially held me back from posting, but the positive response to my content fueled my confidence. I became consistent, sharing nutrition-based reels, offering insights to eager learners.
In my posts, I emphasize the importance of passion over monetary pursuits. Life is too short to spend time on activities that don’t align with our interests. I encourage others to recognize the ticking clock as a signal to reevaluate their choices.
My journey from financial struggles to a budding nutritionist exemplifies the transformative power of self-discovery. In short, from being a diploma graduate, to shifting a couple of jobs, to being underweight and working night shifts, to facing physical problems, I decided to change my lifestyle. Thus, following systematic nutrition helped me carve the style of looking into my life as healthy, wealthy, and pleasant.”
