“It all began on a school ground in Thoraipakkam. I wasn’t tied to one sport—as long as I was playing, I was alive. Our new principal formed a volleyball team, and I started off as a ball boy. From being a sub, to a regular on the team, volleyball became the first sport I learned professionally.
I went on to represent my school, district, and even the state. It wasn’t easy—academics didn’t come naturally, but the one thing I knew for sure was that I wanted a career in sports. A sports quota helped me land a seat in Guru Nanak College where I studied Zoology, but mostly played volleyball. This wasn’t enough and I wanted to chase something that was very personal and I went on to finish my Bachelors and Masters in Physical Education.
After college, I became a PE teacher at Narayana Group of Schools. I loved teaching—talking, observing, and spending time with students as they trained. Over time, I upskilled myself in strength and fitness training. I studied the science, not just the practice. I began working with athletes and clients—each with unique needs, goals, and potential.
Today, I’ve trained over 20,000 students, around 200 athletes and numerous clients around the world, tailoring each fitness journey to suit their lives. I don’t just train for weight loss or performance—I train people to enjoy movement, to celebrate small wins, and to believe in the process.
Chennai is everything to me. I’ve trained in every corner of this city. And I have one dream—that one day, someone I’ve trained will stand on the Olympic podium.
To anyone starting out—remember: fitness isn’t a punishment or a race. It’s a way of life. The moment you start feeling proud of a small effort, you’ve already won the day.”
