“This years Navratri is special because this is the first time that we are celebrating together as a family. I remember the golden days of my childhood when myself and my granddad used to knock our heads together for arranging Golu in different steps. Owing to education and work, I had moved to other places and this ritual took a backseat. However deciding to make sure that I share this side of our culture with my younger son, I set out to collect few dolls from our local vendors and we set up a cosy Golu at our place. The best part was however having over the family members at our place. Since our wedding happened during the lockdown, we couldn’t invite a lot of our relatives so this provided us a good opportunity to visit each other. As a family, we are crazy LOTR fans so we staged a small theme surrounding that! This festival is a beautiful way to celebrate each other as a community and share cheer and happiness. I am so glad to have started this year and I hope to continue for many more years to come.”
