“Many people believe that our personal experiences shape all art forms. In my case, it certainly seems true. Though art is something that is not majorly appreciated professionally in our country, I chose always to follow my heart. Appa was a government employee, so he wasn’t inquisitive about me working for films initially. However, I was strong and passionate about what I wanted to become. I followed Elon Musk’s quote, which says not to quit at any instant.

During the 2nd year of my Electronics Media degree (which I dint know why I opted for this course), I started building a connection with communities around. And that is how I learned about the IBA USA-based Bike ride in which we should have travelled 1600+ Kms in 24 hours.

I got inclined towards the adventure bike ride and took this fearlessly. Successfully, I participated and got honoured with recognition for completing the ride.

Meanwhile, during the travel, I got an insight into doing a music video album about Tamil Nadu and contacted one of the renowned music directors, Santhosh Narayanan. The music album was named ‘Thai Engal Tamizh Naadey’, which covered all the adventures, delights, and sights of the state’s rich culture, heritage, and people.

More importantly, with the help of some of the incredible people in the industry such as Vignesh Shivan, Vijay Karthik Kannan (DOP), and 1000+ artists, we were able to shoot the music album of our state, for our state, by our state performers itself. With so much effort, it was produced by The Symbol Company.

While Santhosh Narayanan was the music director for a Tamil film named Iraivi, he reached out to me to direct a song, Manidhi, from the movie.

Meanwhile, I started a production house, ‘SRS productions India’, wherein we do Music Album, Ad films, etc. To date, I have worked on and directed more than a dozen of Ad shoots.

Inspired by the works of many eminent filmmakers, I’m now directing my debut movie, which will be released in three languages later next year.

Direction has always been my cup of passion & I’ve slowly taken myself to the position where I can create an influential script and direct a movie, having no prior working experience as an associate.

Anything is possible when you stick on to what you had aimed for, without quitting!”
