“I got married when I was pursuing my UG in MBBS. Becoming a doctor was one of my dreams and with the right support, I shaped my career flawlessly.

My husband always stood as a pillar of support with me throughout my journey of becoming a doctor.

After my MBBS, I immediately got into my PG course. I was soon pregnant and was blessed with twins.

My pregnancy or my family neither let me down nor stopped me from doing what I enjoy doing.

I did my fellowship in Aesthetic medicine, MD Dermatology.

Whenever I quenched upon accomplishing a different venture, my husband, along with my family, consistently kept defending me. They equally help me achieve things by taking care of my kids, during my absence, which is the topmost priority.

I wished to be an entrepreneur someday and so, I actively did my research to pitch in the right idea to the cosmetic industry consumers. I was able to identify the problems that people faced in my industry. And consequently, I discovered that no salon in India has combined the hair, skin, and nail care along with the aesthetics, and clinical procedures & treatments.

This hit me hard and as a result, having those lessons in mind, I started Anlon Art Salon, in Chennai. The team has enlarged, which makes the business sustain a success now.

Becoming a renowned aesthetic physician & consultant dermatologist in Chennai was very challenging. I cherish the journey and the experiences that I had throughout.

I’m also looking after one of the retirement homes, called The Chennai Homes Retirement Club (TCH) & we run a 40 bedded speciality hospital setup named Sri Shanthi Hospital.

Ageing is an inevitable part of life – but we can control it the way we want to. We all cross many stages of life where we get exposed to a lot of different emotions, people, interests, and facts. Keeping aside everything, considering my love for dance, I joined the Kathak class.

I’m mentioning this because there were many societal stops that are actually being faced by many women around us, who remain silent. But I was able to inspire the younger generation by setting a live example for following your passion at whatever age you want to.

Fairy tale life doesn’t happen in a day; it has to be built cautiously and steadily.

More than being called a doctor or an entrepreneur, I love being called and known as a Mom of Two!”
