“I was born and raised in Thenkasi, a small town near Tirunelveli. But soon after my schooling, I started traveling around the country for work. And one such engagement took me to Mathura, where I spent the best years of my life. Everything was perfect there, right from my job to my friends. It’s been several years since I moved out of that town, but it will always remain close to my heart.
The next few years went by with me moving to places like Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh, and Bahrain too. It was a struggle to land a permanent job as I switched two companies in three years. After which I finally got a permanent position. It was through my friends that I landed a job in Bahrain. It was initially challenging to settle to the food, culture, and working style there, but I got accustomed to it eventually. I also managed to make friends in my workplace. Most of them are from various parts of India, and a few of them, from Tamilnadu. We eventually became good friends, and we continue to stay in touch with each other. I have spent 22 years of my career in Bahrain, and it remains my second
most favorite place after Mathura.
Retirement brought me to Chennai, and this life has been great too. I have a bunch of walking buddies with whom I hang out every day, and we discuss everything under the sun. It is the people that make a place unique and fill it with memories. I am blessed to have found such people everywhere I go.”
