“I have been a jack of all trades, master of none since my childhood. I have been a real quick learner from a very young age, but with quick-changing interests. My interest over things keep changing constantly and I have failed to stick to one passion, however, I have been lucky to be blessed with parents who understand me very well and help me take up new courses ever so often.
Everything started with an Abacus class that I signed up for while in school, I joined there only because my friends did, but, being the quick learner that I was, I grasped the concepts fast. However, I cannot stay still in one place and focus on mastering an art and I lost interest in Abacus. That’s when someone told me about Silambam classes offered in Mylapore.
I learned that for two years where my master appreciated my ability to learn fast and invited me to join his classes at the Marina Beach, it’s been seven years now and somehow I am still practicing Silambam. Along with these I also learned kickboxing, wrestling for a short time, participated in a few competitions and won trophies when I was in my tenth standard.
Switching between these hobbies and classes I was not sure what I need to do further in life and what group should I pick in my 11th standard. I followed my cousins and siblings and joined the science (biology) group just like everyone else in my family. While most of them went on to do their MBBS and the rest pursued careers in related streams. I did not clear my NEET so decided to study Biomedical Engineering as there’s no one in the engineering stream in my family, I am currently in the third year of my course.
While most of my hobbies and interests have been short-lived, I continue to pursue my Silambam practice as that is the only interest that has remained constant over the years and my master has ensured that I give it my fullest by practicing regularly and have participated in National Level competitions. I have been preparing to participate in Pro-Silambam.” #Abacus#Passion#Educate#Family#Support#Friends#Engineering#Mylapore#Chennai#ProSilambam#NEET#Art#biology#Practice#Success#Hardwork#Leadership#Madras#HumansofMadras
