“I come from a family of cricketers, so naturally, I started playing cricket at the age of five. By eight, I was representing my school, and by 13, I was playing in the ‘under 13’ category. I was determined, passionate, and envisioned a future on the field. But as time passed, the late 1990s and early 2000s revealed a reality – cricket wasn’t offering the wide scope I had hoped for. So, in 2003, at the age of 22, I made a difficult decision: I quit.
After graduating from Loyola College, I decided to pursue an MBA, and my family, who had always been supportive of my choices, stood by me once again. Later, I completed my second postgraduate degree in the UK. This education gave me a pathway to work with several global enterprises where I gained immense exposure by travelling to different countries and working overseas for close to 8 years, meeting diverse people, and learning about new cultures.
Meeting new people was one of my things as I love learning new stuff every single day. One thing that has always been my strength is my memory. I’ve been blessed with a sharp mind and an insatiable curiosity. Every day, I sought to learn something new, which led me to fall in love with quizzes. I’ve always been a quizzer, passionate about challenges and the thrill of competition right from my school days. During the pandemic, while still working, I began participating in online quizzes and eventually started hosting them. Quizzing became more than just a hobby; it turned into a sort of calling.
Today, I host over 10 quizzes a month at schools, colleges, corporate events, Sports League teams, and even at pubs and private parties. My wife, who has been my rock, works at a FinTech company and is always cheering me on. We have a nine-year-old son (almost 10 :)) who explores every activity with curiosity, and like my parents did for me, I let him chart his own path.
I live by the principles of manifestation, kindness, and positivity. Life has taught me one simple truth: pursue what you love with an open heart, and the world will open up for you. I was in my early 40s when I decided to explore a side hustle. It’s never late to do anything that you love. Be kind, do good, and you do you!”
