“People often take pity at me when they see me doing manual work. But what is the purpose of living without contributing effectively to the world or your family? Many youngsters these days don’t want to work to earn their salary. They are looking for means and sources to get through the easy way out but that won’t last them for long. I was born into an economically poor family and we hardly got anything to get through the day. Yet, we got through life working hard to make ends meet and even after marriage, the ordeal has continued. I have four children, all of which are working in different manual labour jobs currently. I sell toys and other products during festival and thiruvizhas in different places in the state. I live with my son and my daughter, shifting alternatively but I will never go for a day without working. I wish the younger generation too, would understand the value and meaning of hard work and strive to achieve great heights through their own making. They hold different responsibilities towards the society, their own parents, their immediate kith and kin, etc. They have to fulfil it in due course! I wish more and more young adults would become more cognizant of this and work towards greatness the right way.”
