“Whenever I recall my childhood, I remember this particular incident distinctively. I was in my upper kindergarten and it was the annual day. Our teacher had meticulously made us practice the steps for the previous three weeks so we were excited to be performing for our teachers. However on that day, the entire auditorium was lit up and in between our performance, there was a huge smoke cloud billowing from a machine nearby. I was so awestruck by that, that I forgot my steps and stood there transfixed while my peers completed the dance. It was probably the fear that made me leave my love for dancing then. I am currently doing my second year of engineering in Chennai and I still think back to that day; maybe things would have been different if I had pursued dance anyway. But it did teach me an important lesson. No matter how simple a task is, we should give in our all and try and complete to the best of our abilities. Each and every little detail matters and it will definitely help you in your life. I have often been condemned and teased for my need for perfection but it has become a part of my life and I can’t seem to shake it out my system. I consider it a gift and this unique trait of mine has helped me scale a lot of things in my life and I am grateful for that. And that is the exact advice I would like to leave with anyone reading this – no matter the size of the task present, do it with your utmost dedication and you will see how the reward manifests and multiplies itself.”
