“I started editing videos in 2003, probably in the middle of my 11th grade in school. I got selected in TCS, Chennai from the engineering college campus.
Shifting to Chennai was a ‘dream come true’ moment for me. I desired to settle down in a tier 1 city since my aspirations and passion were big and broader.
I had opportunities to direct short films and act from my college days (actually from my school days too).
By grabbing small opportunities, I thought I can grow well in the media industry. Expectedly, the entertainment industry always needed more and more entertainment.
It was the ‘Naalaiya Iyyakunar’ time and during season 4, I helped one of my friends in shooting and post-production. In 2014 (during the next season), I directly got down into direction and submitted my work – Aasai Yaara Vittuchu. Followed by Kaniyum Naanum.
The film was so much welcomed and appreciated. With no prior experience working for any directors, I decided to equip myself with more knowledge and exposure.
I worked so hard and directed short films, ads, movies, music albums and a lot more over the years. 7 years and still going on, I hadn’t stopped learning and looking at every new project (how small it might be) as a new career, a new opportunity.
I started stocking up a lot of perseverance and patience, in order to deal with a lot of projects, expose my expertise and support the upcoming talents. I believe that someday – all our work will be paid off with rightful recognition.
Life gives you so many paths. It allows you to flow in your envisioned journey. Sometimes, there are hits and sometimes not. Don’t stop when you give one success. It’s not just that one; that’s just a small sign which signals that there’s something big. Keep walking!
There’re so many people queuing already to grab your place, in whatever place you are in! So keep enriching your skills so that you can enjoy your spot of success & satisfaction.”
