“My journey has been far from easy. Like many, my college years were filled with uncertainty and self-doubt. I often felt lost, unsure of what the future held for me. Yet, amidst those challenging times, I found my purpose: to make a meaningful difference in the world.
In college, we (a set of friends) supported an NGO to support underprivileged communities. The vision was clear, but the path was daunting. I knew nothing about running an organization, let alone building one from scratch. The struggles were real, but they taught me the invaluable lesson of perseverance. Those experiences became the foundation for what was to come.
After graduation, I co-founded a software company, Aveniron, with two close friends. We poured our hearts into the business, dreaming big. However, life had other plans. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it brought us heavy losses, forcing us to shut down. It felt like a crushing defeat – like everything we’d worked for had disappeared. For a while, I questioned whether I was cut out for entrepreneurship.
But giving up was not an option. Picking myself up, I took the lessons learned and started again. Along with my friend Yazlini, I co-founded Ticket-9, a platform for booking live event tickets online. The idea came from adapting to the evolving needs of the world. It wasn’t smooth sailing – there were financial hurdles, mistakes, and moments of self-doubt. Yet, I learned to embrace the process, trust in the journey, and keep going.
For five years, I didn’t take a salary. Every rupee earned went back into growing Ticket-9. While I prioritized the business, I also made it a point to care for my team, ensuring salaries were never delayed. I believe in building a company rooted in trust and commitment.
Today, Ticket-9 is a thriving business. It’s more than just a platform; it’s a proof to the power of persistence, faith, and hard work. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and, more importantly, the lessons learned along the way.
To anyone battling self-doubt or setbacks, know this: failure is not the end. It’s a stepping stone. Keep learning, keep pushing forward, and remember, success lies not in avoiding mistakes but in rising stronger each time you fall.”
