“Growing up in the shadow of my father, I was always intrigued by the way he conducted business and in some ways, he was my first inspiration for my business! He and his close friend from his first job built a business that is now a 100cr company with 2000+ employees. This was always the reason why I believed in building businesses with best friends.
I started Babble networks along with my college friend in 2017, where my bestie-partner took complete care of the tech and I was looking after the sales. We had steady growth and I was parallelly working with my childhood friend who is also an aspiring filmmaker on a project called “Thai Engal Tamil Nadey“. Later he wanted to start a production company and since I was also a part of his shooting career since college days, we started a production house together in that year and we have done 10+ commercial ad films and a few projects in the Tamil film industry.
I always was of the idea of venturing into different businesses especially with my best of friends. And to my dismay, everyone suppressed my idea and asked me to focus on one thing and reap success with it. But I had my gut feeling on what I was thinking and I went along with it because It always feels great to grow along with your squad!
My thrive for a new business didn’t end there and I went on working with tech colleges like IISC, Ceg and IITs on different patents they hold and was learning about converting one of their technologies into a product after college days. So this recent business which I started was a manufacturing plant in which we manufacture silica from RICE-husk-ash. I got the technology patent license from IISC-Bengaluru and we are setting up India’s first operational renewable silica plant, again with a couple of my family friends who are in the RICE-industry since a few decades.
People say that we need to focus on one thing and we should work only on that and I have been hearing it throughout my journey. But what made me a better serial entrepreneur is the thought that I don’t need to specialize in all the business I indulge in, but I just need to get the people who specialize in that and make my investment and operational support continuous. I would say, it is that one thing has made me handle all my companies in a better fashion. And to make an end note it makes me feel better in trusting my gut and my friends than the voices of others.”
