“Like every other backbencher, even I was clueless about the next step which is to choose an ideal career path. Little did I know that my whole life has moulded me to be who I am right now.

I was handed the task of making client appointments when I was seventeen for our family business, a catering service for weddings, and Sree Ambal catering services. I did not have the slightest idea that I was going to take over my family business at the age of twenty-four. Ever since my childhood, I have seen my parents build this business out of their blood and sweat. And that’s exactly why it wasn’t a child’s play to carry the legacy.

Growing up I saw my parents managing the business and the crises which came along with it. I had some amount of insights in me about the know-how of the business. For me, it started out as promoting our business on social media, managing inventories and overseeing productions. Right after my MBA, I found my calling toward this industry and took over the family business.

Weddings are one of the most cherished milestones of people’s lives, they will probably remember this for the rest of their lives. An exquisite cuisine with exceptional catering services elevates this celebration. Now that’s a big responsibility for me to provide them with that.

We have good client attention because of our quality of service. Even when they were skeptical of us, we made sure that we delivered. Taking over a catering business as a woman was no easy task as it has been a male-dominated industry for ages. At first, earning the respect of the laborers was challenging, as they assumed I lacked experience. I tackled this problem just by showing up at all the events and addressing their concerns. I made them understand that they are not working for us but with us.

Throughout my journey, the only constant support system, apart from my parents, is my partner, who pushes me to go forward and achieve greater things.
