“Art has always been my passion and I find joy in it, which is why I make time to practice it. We often hear people say that they had to quit their hobby because they did not find the time for it. But for me, art is my meditation; I need it to maintain my peace and calm. So, if I notice myself losing focus or being unable to make time to draw or paint, I take up a 30-day challenge and start posting on social media. Social media posts are a way of making a public commitment – my friends question me if I don’t post on a particular day.
My friends have been a great pillar of motivation and it makes me happy when they come up to me with requests for personalized gifts like a painting or a sketch. I love doing it because I know that my work is going to find a permanent place in someone’s house. What more could I ask for than being an irreplaceable memory in the life of so many people and families!
I have tried to teach art professionally through workshops, but that did not materialize, once the event was cancelled, another time I did not have enough registrations to host the event. But I won’t let that bring me down. I am going to keep focusing on my art and continue to try and spread it to people. I don’t mean to say that I would call my career in art a success only if I make money out for it. I am in it for passion and passion alone!”
