“I have been dreaming of this day for a long long time but I finally got to fulfill it today. I got my voting rights this year and I was so happy to execute it and accomplish my duty as a citizen of India. There were a lot of thoughts going on about voting in the midst of a pandemic but I was pleasantly surprised to see the level of dedication that went into organizing this whole event. As soon as I stepped inside, a volunteer guided me perfectly to my pooling booth and there, there was hardly a line. They dropped some sanitizer on my hands and gave me a hand glove; slipping it on, I showed my credentials and the polling was done. I was feeling so exhilarated after completing it that I could finally exercise this right and I would get this opportunity every once in few years. It is quite appalling to note how people who are well eligible to vote, don’t take this quite seriously. I want to educate everyone on the importance of this and also ensure that, I never skip my duty as long as I can help it.”
