“When I was just 12 or 13 years old, I experienced the loss of my grandfather due to medical complications. And when I lost my grandmother to breast cancer, it only solidified my determination to help people and make a difference in people’s lives. These incidents left a deep impact on me and inspired me to choose medicine as my career
I worked tirelessly, dedicating my time and energy to my studies, and achieved top marks in all my subjects. My hard work paid off when I was called in by several prestigious colleges, but I chose to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor by studying MBBS. Eventually, I excelled in it, winning the best outgoing award at the end of the course.
At the end of my under-graduation, I faced a challenging situation when I had to handle a delivery myself in the labour room as the doctors were not present. Despite my initial doubts, I was able to deliver the baby successfully, and the family blessed me with heartfelt gratitude. This experience made me realize that I wanted to specialize in gynaecology.
My grandmother had always insisted that I complete my post-graduation before getting married, and I followed her instructions. After completing my PG, I specialized in gynaecology and got married to my supportive and loving husband at the age of 27.
Despite not being in the medical field, my husband has always been my rock and my biggest supporter. He encouraged me to pursue my passion and helped me develop my profession. Together, we started Jammi Scans in 2017, and he took care of all the marketing aspects. Even today, he helps me shoot and edit my videos for YouTube and Instagram.
My husband was the mastermind in starting a trust called “Strengthening Lights” to support underprivileged individuals with their medical expenses. We make sure to help people who have no background or are deprived people by making their scans, consultations, pre-procedures, etc. for free. We also believe that taking care of our staff and their families is our responsibility, and we prioritize their well-being.
My journey towards becoming a gynaecologist was not an easy one, but the unwavering support of my family, especially my husband, has made all the difference. Their love and encouragement gave me the strength to overcome challenges, pursue my dreams, and make a difference in the lives of those around me.
Every dream will have a purpose and when it has a story along, I believe the challenges don’t seem to be a hurdle.”
