“I hail from a quaint village in Thirunelveli. Owing to a rich ancestry, values relating to our native land and our language were deeply ingrained in me. I moved to my uncle’s city for my higher studies because our village didn’t have such a facility.
Completing my B.Ed, I started my teaching career in a school for special children and then moved on P.A.K. Pazhanisamy Higher Secondary School as a Tamil teacher. From someone who had never had any public speaking experience to going on to enthrall the students and our visiting dignitaries, I would say that I was so blessed to be presented with such opportunities.
I used up all the opportunities to showcase and strengthen my talents and it in turn it earned me a good credibility amongst everyone associated with me. One of my students who learnt under me turned out to be an excellent debater in Tamizh debating associations and today, he goes as a judge for many such gatherings.
My speeches have earned the respect of many well renowned folks who have come visiting our school for school events. I have always been praised for my voice and my command over the language. Today we have students visiting our school from different parts of the world. To know that I played a small part in helping them develop values about her native land is a humbling epiphany for me.
I took voluntary retirement completing my 30 years of service in a profession I dedicated my life to. The parting advice that I want to leave with my readers is to make the best use of the opportunities that find their way to us. When you do something with soul satisfaction and dedication, the ripple effect of that deed will live on for generations setting your legacy behind.”
