“Ever since I can remember, I have had a knack for learning. My dad was this person who’d push my siblings and me to enroll for all sorts of classes. Our summer holidays were spent learning different kinds of art forms- cooking, driving, etc. By the time I got married, I had a degree and so many other certifications including a diploma in interior designing. So, a few years later, when my older child had a terrible skin allergy, that was cured by nothing except a simple home remedy, it wasn’t surprising that one thing led to another and with the encouragement of friends, I completed a course in naturopathy and earned my doctorate. I was probably too concerned about my own kids and family. When a hospital opened near my house, I decided to complete a degree in nutrition and practice. Fortunately, things went as per plan and I’ve been practicing there for around 5 years now.
During the course of my practice, I came across many different ailments that my clients complained about. I decided to do something about it and thus began my rendezvous with essential oils. I travelled to different countries and realised that all essential oils are too expensive for the common man. Growing up in a household like mine, I always saw my mother have her own garden and make her own oils at home.
So I started blending and making my own compositions of different oils to alleviate different ailments like migraines, insomnia, etc. My startup is just a year old but when someone comes back to me with how my oils helped them beat sleeplessness, I know I am on the right track. I went through a lot in my life- many painful experiences which were hard to endure but they helped me mold into a stronger person. Most successful people would vouch for the fact that without a storm, there can’t be a rainbow. So, whatever grave incidents life threw my way, acted as a stepping stone to reach my dream.
And I’m glad I am still learning and growing.”
